After a two month evaluation and training period, on December 1, 2005, ProWorks added AOI to its suite of test services.  Our platform of choice is the Cyberoptics Flex, CyberOptics' automated optical inspection (AOI) system uses innovative, proprietary Statistical Appearance Modeling™ (SAM) software to perform post-placement or post-reflow inspection with the industry's lowest false call rate. Unlike conventional AOI systems, Flex does not require algorithm programming. SAM is a 3rd generation AOI technology that employs knowledge-based techniques allowing Flex to learn inspection parameters and create a mathematical model of a good PCB simply by seeing a number of known good boards.

ProWorks has quickly developed in-house expertise in the programming and maintenance of the Cyberoptics system. Additionally, we are working closely with Cyberoptics to drive feature/functionality enhancements in future Software and Hardware releases.
