ProWorks offers new product introduction (NPI) services to customers at all stages of growth from early stage start ups without any infrastructure to Fortune 100 companies with advanced systems and extremely stringent quality control and reporting requirements. Regardless of where on this spectrum of evolution our customers reside, all of them require ProWorks to offer an optimized solution based on flexibility and agility when it comes to NPI. We have engineered our NPI solution on four key principles:

ProWorks emphasizes early involvement with the engineering constituency at our customers as key to a successful NPI engagement. Over the years we have turned early involvement into a mind set.  Not satisfied with depending on the customer to involve us, we push our involvement by taking the responsibility to pull as much information as early as possible about the development calendar and any preliminary specification information. With the information available early, we have developed a breath of Product Realization solutions to make use of the information to the full extent possible as early as possible.

At the NPI stage where volumes are low and time-to-market is critical, most decisions must be based on time not cost. While this rule is fundamental to delivering excellence in NPI services, it is counter to the conventional wisdom related to manufacturing a more mature product in volume production stage. ProWorks has developed a comprehensive set of terms and conditions that remove the barriers to speed inherent in a standard manufacturing services agreement and allow the processes to be unhindered by certain contractually required processes that are never meant for NPI volumes. We have further developed this concept by offering a variety of NPI based programs that allow us ultimate flexibility to tailor programs for specific customer needs.

We have outfitted our factory to be able to handle the speed necessary for offering world class NPI services. In some cases, notably SMT, we have dedicated equipment and personnel to strictly work on NPI jobs. These dedicated teams are our most skilled employees and utilize a different rule set emphasizing speed to handle their duties. In other cases, where dedicating equipment and/or personnel is not practical, we have set up comprehensive bottleneck prioritization rules to ensure that NPI jobs can speed through the entire process.
